Is This Helping or Harming Me?
A simple check-in tool to guide choices in recovery, helping you pause, reflect, and respond with self-compassion.
Ask Yourself…
1. Does this support my recovery or put it at risk?
2. How does this make me feel? (Calm or anxious? Strong or drained?)
3. Am I choosing this from self-respect or fear, guilt, or habit?
Signs It’s Helping Me:
- I feel calm, grounded, and safe
- It aligns with my recovery goals
- It supports my mental, physical, or emotional well-being
- I feel respected, heard, and in control
- I am growing or learning something positive
Signs It’s Harming Me:
- I feel anxious, ashamed, or uneasy
- I am compromising my boundaries or values
- It pulls me towards old habits, people, or places
- I feel small, powerless, or ignored
- I regret it or question it afterward
Write it out…
